11 for 2011

2011 Resolution is 1024×768 … Corny joke I know! *geek*

Better late than never I guess!   I think such topics like the 2011 resolution can let you focus more on what you need to do, and it really helps you out in being determined to achieve something, insha’allah.

I can’t find a document which I wrote some stuff I wanted to do in 2010, and – yes I know – I didn’t blog them!

So let’s say – from what I can remember – that I have successfully done some stuff I wanted to accomplish during 2010, and they are:

  1. Start my own company.
  2. Lose weight; I lost 11 Kg in 2010 :D
  3. Quit Smoking; not a single cigarette since 31st May 2010.
  4. … (I swear there was like 5 more stuff I wanted to do but I can’t remember them)

Now let us talk a bit about 2010, then we’ll decide which achievements should I plan for in 2011!

(I will put some stars in this paragraph to hide some stuff I don’t want to share in public)
2010 in words: recession, work-level achievements, closer to ****, new mobile phone, gained more self-confidence, changed jobs, worked on some great projects, quit smoking, started working out in gym, world cup was full of surprises, engagements and weddings of a lot of friends, lost **** (I guess it was meant to be), I didn’t do good – spiritually – in Ramadan, I became an argeeleh addict after Ramadan, I discovered I cannot live without working out, ups downs here and there, closer to **** again :), new phone (again!), started my own company, built lots of new relationships and got to know lots of new good people and bad people but the good ones count is greater, I also learned and got to know more about some people I like already :)

I know myself, and I know what I want (not exactly but let’s say I have a good idea about what I want to do at least for the next 3 years).  What do I want from 2011, or from myself to achieve in 2011 is a combination of things that didn’t exist in 2010, things I should have done a very long time ago, and things I should stop doing.

My 2011 Resolution, let’s get started:

  1. Go for Omra (عمرة) insha’allah (إن شاء الله).
  2. Dedicate a huge space for worshiping and prayers in Ramadan this year insha’allah.
  3. Open the Hope Window back again and make it more active and engaging with the community.
  4. Make my new company (Tech Spaceship) rise and shine in the local and regional market insha’allah.
  5. Be dedicated more to working out and reaching my weight-loss/body-building goal.
  6. Read Read and Read, I hate myself for not reading books at all, I read articles and blogs, but I lack the general reading experience.  Qur’an will be in the first place insha’allah.
  7. Getting credentials/certification in some business non-technical field to assist in the move-up I’m going through from software development multitasking to running a company by time.
  8. Cutting down argeeleh to once every 2 weeks or quitting it for good.
  9. More networking and building relationships for work and life matters alike.
  10. Lose the pessimistic thoughts I get randomly from over-thinking and start looking more at the bright side (تفائلوا بالخير تجدوه).
  11. Grow God’s, my parents and family satisfaction and love to me, this is a major one, not that my family don’t love me already and we’re good together, but what can you ask for more than (رضا الله والوالدين).

That’s about it, 11 for 2011, and in God’s will I will be able to succeed in this MISSION!!!

No relationship plans ahead I can assure that for some of you ;), but only God knows what’s going to happen ahead of time, I can only ask from God to grant us his love and be merciful upon my family, me and you, may he be generous to us in his mercy upon us in this life, Amen.

Wish me luck!

  • Just curious how your 2011 resolutions went. Searching for people’s results, what they tried to commit to resolve, success or failure, etc. How have yours been going?
